Bio/Personal

Murphy transfers to Wagner from Slippery Rock in Pennsylvania where she saw limited action as a freshman. Murphy who will serve as a driver for the Seahawks tallied nine goals along with 18 steals a season ago. She will look to improve on those numbers in 2007. Prior to Slippery Rock, Murphy, a Texas native & yes, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, attended high school in Bryan, TX where she was a teammate of Seahawk swimmer Halley Allen. She concluded her HS swimming & water polo career in Jenks (OK) with State Championships in both sports. While in high school Murphy piled up a host of honors in both swimming and polo. She was named All-State, All-American in both swimming and polo. In addition she was named team MVP and defensive MVP for polo while twice making the junior olympic team with her club polo squad. In her spare time, Dru enjoys coloring, facebooking & checking her email incessantly. She has a somewhat intense aversion to odd numbers & an unhealthy obsession with caffeine & games like patty-cake & capture-the-flag. As a youngster, she was under the impression that she truly was `April' of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fame. A business major she is daughter to Kevin & Patti, and the proud sister of Rachel(11), a promising young diver and Sean (9), a nationally-ranked age-group swimmer.
