Wagner Soccer Adds Four To Class Of 2012

Head Coach Mike Minielli

March 4, 2008

Staten Island, NY - Wagner Soccer Head Coach Mike Minielli announced today that the program has officially added four players that will enroll at the school this upcoming fall and join the roster for the 2008 campaign.

The four athletes, two of whom hail from Staten Island, will join three players that were announced in early February - when the early signing period kicked off - as Wagner Soccer's Class of 2012.

Allie Bauer (Commack, NY/Commack) is a 5'9" forward/midfielder who played for the Stony Brook Hornets in club. She is slotted to play that dual role, also, for the Seahawks this upcoming season.

"Allie can play anywhere in the midfield or front line," said Minielli. "She continues our quest for more height and athleticism and will give us a good target if we use her up front, or she can give us size and that same athleticism in the midfield.

"She has a great touch on the ball and will fit in very well with our system."

Jaclyn Dalessio (Staten Island, NY/St. Joseph by the Sea) is a 5'8" defender/midfielder who played her club ball with Staten Island United. She will also split at midfield and defense here at Wagner.

"Jaclyn has been primarily a defender and excels in this position," said Minielli. "We may also use her in a midfield role to shore up our defending in the middle of the field, as well."

"She is good on the ball, so wherever she is playing, she will also help us with possession of the ball."

Lauren Pettinato (Montpelier, VT/U-32 High School) is a 5'6" defender/midfielder who played for Nordic in club. She is projected to play both positions for Wagner.

"Lauren is a high energy player that will play on the outside for us in the defense or midfield," said Minielli. "Like our other players, she has the ability to play a couple of positions and will be a valuable addition to our team."

Jen Emigholz (Staten Island, NY/Moore Catholic) is a 5'10" goalkeeper who will join fellow classmate Dalessio and assistant coach Heather Barclay as native Staten Islanders turned Seahawks.

"Jen will provide us with depth at the goalkeeper position," said Minielli. "We have a keeper in each class which will allow us to have continuity each year with this position.

"Jen is a tremendous shot-stopper we feel will blossom at the college level. Her height and athleticism is perfect for the position and for us at Wagner."
