NJIT Shuts Out Wagner 7-0



Senior Adam Amster put up a valient fight at No. 1 singles

Staten Island, NY - NJIT (11-7) shut out Wagner (1-11) by a 7-0 score at the Wagner Tennis Courts.

After dropping the first set 6-0, senior Adam Amster (Concord, MA / Concord-Carlisle) put up a fight in the second set before losing 6-3 to Steve Erickson at No. 1 singles. At second singles, sophomore John LeBlanc (Staten Island, NY / Tottenville) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Jonathan Lang. Classmate Ben Serbiak (Washington Crossing, PA / Holy Ghost Prep) fared no better at No. 3, losing to Anthony Tunnero 6-0, 6-1. At fourth singles, sophomore Byron Clohessy dropped a 6-1, 6-3 decision to Ramy Lawandy. Senior Will Shuler (Springfield, MA / Central Springfield) lost to Siddhardth Verma 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles. Doug Zytko rounded out NJIT's singles' effort with a 6-3, 6-1 victory against junior Sheldon Wilson.

NJIT won the doubles' point after winning all three matches.

The Green & White is next in action on Saturday, April 5 when they head to Delaware State.
