Averaged 6.1 minutes a game ... Scored 31 points and grabbed 25 rebounds for the season ... Recorded a 1.8:1 Assist:Turnover ratio ... Shot a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line ... Played in 15 of 18 NEC games averaging 1.7 ppg in league play ... Made his collegiate debut in the opener vs John Jay (11/19) with five points and six rebounds in 12 minutes ... Hit 4-6 three pointers in 14 minutes and ended with a career high points at CCSU (1/26) ... Earned his first collegiate start at St. Francis (NY) (2/9) ... Took home Third Team Honors in the prestigious Jersey Shore Basketball League ... Was also named the league's Best Newcomer by Ted Kaiser of the Jersey Sports News following his league-leading 3.2 blocks per game ... A four-year starter, he ended his career as the all time leading scorer with 1,447 points, fourth-highest total in Staten Island history... As a senior averaged 16.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game and was Third Team All-City by numerous newspaper publications... Named All-State Class AA... Along with former teammate Steve Rossiter (Davidson), led the Lions to a 22-5 record and their first Staten Island High School Championship in 25 years... Participated in the Old Spice Red Zone All-Star Shoot-out featuring the prep stars from the greater Chicago Area and the greater New York Area... A three time Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) All-Star... Played AAU ball for the New York Gauchos team that was ranked third in the country... Also a member of the track team as a freshman and sophomore, he was the NY state champion in the high jump... A member of the National Honor Society and TCM (Teaching Christian Message) organizations... Uncle Frank Marone played football at Syracuse in the 1980s...
