Jason Jurgens enters his fourth season as an assistant coach for the Seahawks. He is responsible for the instruction of the outfielders, hitters and is the catching coach. Since coming to the Seahawks he has solidified the Green & White defense and offense while helping them to two NEC Tournaments and a school-record 15 conference-wins in 2006. Before arriving on Staten Island, he spent two years guiding the North Platte Junior Legion team to extremely successful seasons. The product of North Platte, NE was a two-year letter winner at Colorado St - Pueblo, where he helped the Thunderwolves to an 85-33 record during his two seasons, including an NCAA Regional appearance in 2002. Jurgens was also an All-Academic honoree and was named team MVP and captain. Before transferring to CSU-P, Jurgens attended Howard County Junior College in Big Spring, TX, earning team MVP honors while serving as a captain. He earned his MBA from Wagner last May and his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from CSU-P in 2003. Jurgens is engaged to be married to former Wagner soccer player Juli Baranello in August. |
