Somerset, NJ - Freshman Coleman Edmund (Kingston, NY/Harmony Prep MI) nabbed his second Northeast Conference (NEC) Rookie of the week award of the 2008 season, as announced by the league office. Edmund parlayed his 100-meter and 200-meter performances at Virginia's Lou Onesty Invitational into his second NEC weekly honor of the season.

The freshman recorded a 100-meter mark of 10.78 at UVA, ranking him fifth on the NEC Performance list while his 200-meter performance (22.04) ranks him eighth in the NEC.

On March 20th, Edmund posted the league's second-fastest 100-meter time (10.70) at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational. This performance led him to his first Rookie of the Week award of his outdoor career and qualified him for the IC4A Championships.

Edmund and the rest of the Seahawks return to action at the METS Championships on Saturday, April 19th.
