Somerset, NJ - Junior Alaina Alfano (East Hanover, NJ/Hanover Park) has been named the Northeast Conference (NEC) Most Valuable Player for the 2007-2008 indoor track & field championships, as announced by the league office.

Along with scoring 20 of the Seahawks 43 points at the 2008 NEC Indoor Championships, Alfano set the Wagner All-Time Indoor records in the long jump (1.79m, January 26, 2008) and triple jump (11.44m, February 10, 2008) throughout the season.

Alfano also captured not one, not two, but three spots on the 2008 All-NEC Second Team Indoor Track & Field team. The first is for her performance in the 60m hurdles, where she boasted a time of 9.07 seconds. The second and third awards come through her field performances in both the high and long jump. In the high jump, Alfano earned second place in the NEC Championships with a jump of 1.64m while she took second in the long jump with a 5.47m
