Penn State, 1996

Born in Spangler, Pennsylvania and raised in Barnesboro, Pennsylvania. Bill Wagner, Head Athletic Trainer at Wagner College, comes to Grymes Hill from Florida Tech, a Division II university in Melbourne, FL. Prior to being at Tech, he spent the previous 9 years with the New York Mets Professional Baseball Organization.

Wagner graduated from Penn State in 1996 with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science with a concentration in Athletic Training.

In 1995, Wagner was a student athletic trainer for the Penn State Nittany Lions Football Team and then served as an internship with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1996. Wagner then caught on with the New York Mets working with in the Mets' minor league system with Pittsfield, Columbia, St. Lucie and Binghamton from 1997-2005. During his last four seasons with the Mets, he was the Minor League Training & Rehabilitation Coordinator.

During three different off-seasons with the Mets, he also worked in the California Fall League in 1999 and spent two the 1999 and 2000 seasons in the Venezuelan Winter Leagues.

He came back to collegiate athletics in 2005 and spent the last two years at Florida Tech, which is in the Sunshine State Conference.

Wagner is a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Wagner's passion for his job comes across clearly to the people around him. The student-athletes and coaches appreciate his determination at getting injured athletes back to the playing field as soon as possible.

Wagner uses the latest rehabilitation techniques and practices to get the Seahawk athletes physically and mentally strong as quick as possible to get them back into action.

He plans on finishing his master's degree at Wagner College in Business Administration.

Wagner currently lives in Staten Island, NY with his girlfriend, Crystal and their dog, Ben.

He has a daughter, Angelene who was born on 9/30/03 and resides in New Jersey with her mother.
